SOUND MIXING & TITLES DESIGN

By Myiesha
Few people understand the significance of sound mixing; it is what brings the scenes together by balancing all types of sound to create the perfect atmosphere, a fine balance between sound effects, music, and dialogue if there is any.
To add a unique twist to our video, we decided to include dialogue, which is a brief conversation between the two sisters in their native language, Tagalog. We did this to show our lead actress's motivation to keep going and how nerve-racking it can be to adapt to new things, so we experimented with sound mixing.
I did the voiceovers because I have experience... being dramatic... we added a subtle heartbeat to one of our animation scenes to portray elements of distress, suspense, or shock. I used a bass sound effect to create a smooth transition between music and dialogue. A similar audio to what I used is as follows:

We also used a series of fades in and outs in various parts of the music video to gradually introduce the viewer to the subjects.
Here is one of our most defined sound-mixing results. â€‹
We thought the text in our video was significant, even lyrical. We were inspired by One OK Rock's video because I noticed it displays an indirect or abstract meaning from an individual's perspective, just as we see a painting, and considering we featured a voiceover in a foreign language, it only made sense.
Later, knowing how rock bands tend to work with relatively messy and sharp fonts, I began researching for the perfect font. The text we used was inspired by One OK Rock's logo.
Maroosh wanted something readable in a short amount of time to make it easier for those watching. We used the font "MANIC" for the lyrics that appeared on screen, and "EVORA" for other text that appeared relatively larger.
The majority of the lyrics appear, while others have glitches when screen time is used.
